Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Southern Berks Regional EMS is a non-profit charitable corporation providing 24-hour emergency medical services to over 60,000 people residing in nine municipalities of Berks County. Last year, we responded to over 6,200 emergency calls, averaging an excellent response time of under seven minutes.
We are pleased to announce that because of our crews’ ability to provide excellent lifesaving services, we have been awarded the 2018 Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award. This award is given by the American Heart Association in recognition of those EMS companies that achieve the highest standards in identifying and treating acute cardiac conditions. Notably this is our fourth Gold level award and fifth award overall.
Donations from the community are critical in helping us purchase the equipment needed to provide these lifesaving skills. You can be assured that 100% of your donation goes directly toward supporting our operations. Because of your generosity, last year we replaced aging equipment and upgraded other equipment to meet all new Department of Health standards. This year, we plan to continue to update our equipment, as well as provide a scholarship for one of our EMTS to complete schooling to become a Paramedic.
If you are able to contribute, we ask that you mail your completed donation form in the envelope provided along with your tax deductible check or money order. There is also an option to contribute online by visiting our website. We encourage you to consider making your donation “in honor of” or “in memory of” a loved one. We will be recognizing all contributors and dedications in our annual report for 2018.
We thank you for your continued support.
