October Employee Spotlight

Bill Hafer, EMT-P, FTO

Our employee spotlight for the month of October is Paramedic and Field Training Officer Bill Hafer. Bill has been with Southern Berks Regional EMS since 2007 when he started as an EMT. Bill went back to school and achieved his Paramedic certification in 2012. Bill and his wife Michelle live in Muhlenberg with their dog, Bella. When Bill is not working he enjoys spending time with his family and going to the gym. All the time that Bill has spent in the gym has really paid off as he recently lost over 80 pounds! Bill attended Reading Area Community College (RACC) where he graduated in 2006 with an associates degree in criminal justice, after which he went back to RACC where he studied and attained his certification as an EMT. Bill was drawn to EMS while attaining his EMT certification and decided to change career pathways and go into EMS. For those looking to start a career in EMS Bill’s advice is to “Be able to talk to people. We are there on someone’s worst day.” We would like to thank Bill for his many years of dedicated service to Southern Berks Regional EMS and the communities that we serve!
